WHAT CAN i TELL YOU ABOUT ME?
I’m Katie, wife to long suffering Gavin and Mummy to George (8) and Emma (6) and Bella the dog. We are fortunate to overlook the Humber Bridge in a small East Yorkshire village and are a very outdoorsy family.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved cutting, sticking and making things. To me there is something unbelievably rewarding taking a selection of materials and making them into something amazing; particularly if you are making that project to give to someone else.
I love bright colours and am a magpie to sparkle. I am also a bit of a messy crafter, but then surely that represents a creative mind in overload right?
Music makes me happy when crafting so the likes of Abba, and The Proclaimers are often on the set list in The Little Paper Playground…my happy place where a bit of creative play blows the cobwebs away!
wHY THE LITTLE PLAYGROUND?
As you’ve seen, I have two young children. You will also have noticed the paper kite in my logo. The paper kite stems from when my mind was officially blown in crafting terms – the ‘Let’s Go Fly a Kite’ number in Mary Poppins (though paper and string would certainly cost more than tuppence nowadays!) When trying to incorporate both things in a name, The Little Paper Playground was born! I adore crafting with the children. They do it so freely, letting their projects take shape so organically. The mess they create is incredible, but so worth it! I hope this blog will prove that you an craft at any age!
wHY STAMPIN’ UP?
Initially, I joined because my shopping list was so big that it made financial sense to do it for the discount. I soon realised though that I wanted to share the joy that crafting can bring and hopefully encourage people to try it.
I love Stampin’ Up! products. They’re great quality. I love how they all coordinate so there’s no overthinking and also the tools are incredible too.
I have super shaky hands so if I can do it, so can you!
Welcome, and happy crafting!
